Summer: Mead Moon

Mead Moon.png

As the carousel of summer abundance twirls, the Mead Moon is in bloom. The flowers are bursting and the nectar of Mother Earth is gathered by her creatures. The pollinators are busy stocking up. These industrious workers are also mixing, hybridizing and propagating the life of the plant world. All creatures hoard in their own way; little ones stuff their cheeks, some bury their cache, other store fat in their bodies and humans once would use the art of fermentation to preserve their bounty. Life is celebrated, intoxicated with the nectar abound on earth.

12 Moons follows the year in the lunar cycles. Many cultures across time and geography, especially native land based cultures, have used the moon to mark time, prepare for seasons and recall agricultural practices and wisdom.
