Wild Crafting : Safety + Ethics
Getting to know the local plants and learning how to use them for food and medicine can be a great doorway to becoming a steward of the land. Hopefully, the more we learn about the benefits of wild plants the more we will be motive to protect them and the surrounding ecosystem. These plants are integral to a whole ecosystem and the lives of many animals, bugs and birds.
Phylleri Ball : Raising Goats in the Mountains
“Are you Crazy?” “They will never survive!” were the first reactions of my neighbors when I moved into the Double Domes on Aspen Meadows Road six years ago. They didn’t realize that I was known as “The Goat Lady” back East, where I had raised 100 head of sheep and Angora goats.
Mountain Gardening with Christel & Anyll Markevich
A group of neighbors have been gardening up here for years testing high altitude gardening techniques and researching traditional gardening in other cultures. After much experimentation and hard work, we are so grateful they share the culminating knowledge from years of gardening in the rocky mountains.
Magnolia Grassfed
We got to spend an early evening in the meadow with our local rancher, Woody Woodward. I knew a little about the work he was doing with the animals and we have a freezer stocked with some of the best beef we have ever eaten from his ranch. What Woody is doing through Magnolia Grassfed is so much more than just providing delicious food. His practices are helping maintain the health of the meadows by mimicking ancient herding behaviors. Woodys work with the ecology of the meadow supports the grater wildlife sanctuary this community calls home.
Wilderness: Bats
1/3 of the profits will go to Bat Conservation International. These bat houses are well suited for the mountains. They are designed by one of the leading bat scientists in the world, Merlin Tuttle…
Bees and Bee House Kit
YOU Can Help Save Bees! Bees are responsible for about 80% of all pollination, 70% of food pollination is performed by bees. They are dying at a rapid rate. This is due to pesticides, loss of habitat, climate changes, and more human interferences. We are a huge part of the problem, but we can take action to be a part of saving them too.
