Spring Willow Crowns

Willow Crowns Wide.jpg

Spring-time and bright colors go hand in hand, reminding us of the earth’s beauty after the long winter rest.

Willow crowns and wind wands are a simple craft to make with your kiddos!

Instructions:

1) Find a wet stream or creek and you will usually find willow close by. It has thin, flexible branches with bright green shoots in the spring. It is malleable and lends itself easily to being bent to the shape of a crown.

2) Use twine or a soft string (not wire because the tips can be sharp and this is going on little one’s head’s!) to wrap the willow into a circle.

3) Cut long strips of different colored ribbon, or you can even cut up old t-shirts or cloth, to tie around the back of the crown.

4) Now...time to twirl, giggle and frolic!
